Mitesh Mirchandani ISC is an Indian cinematographer whose work bridges both advertising and feature films. A graduate of the New York Film Academy, Mitesh began his career with a regional Marathi film at the age of 20. Early in his career, he worked as a Set PA on an American miniseries for HBO, an experience that helped shape his passion for cinematography.


In advertising, Mitesh’s work is marked by a cinematic sensibility that prioritises storytelling. He has shot standout campaigns such as Kurkure (featuring Ranveer Singh & Sara Ali Khan), Bellavita Perfume (Khali), Bhima Jewellery, Etihad Airways (Katrina Kaif), Gems – Opera, Amazon Prime – What’s Your Mood?, Hero Maestro (Ranbir Kapoor), Good Day Wonderfulls (Deepika Padukone), and Airtel 4G Challenge, among many others. His broader portfolio includes campaigns for brands like Peacock – Jio Cinema, Kalyan Jewellers, Rungta Steel, Samsung, Vivo 5G, Ambuja Cement, Chopard Happy Style, and more.


Notably, his work on an Indian Air Force commercial led producer Sonia Kanwar to approach him, resulting in his collaboration with debut director Aditya Dhar on the feature film Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019).


Mitesh’s feature film cinematography on Neerja (2016) earned the Filmfare Award for Best Cinematography, noted for its immersive and tense visual style. He has also worked on Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana (2012), Bawaal (2023), and contributed to the Netflix anthology Lust Stories (2018), specifically the segment titled “Ice-Cream.”


His approach to cinematography is grounded in simplicity and collaboration. He focuses on the essence of the story, keeping the process minimalistic while ensuring strong narrative impact. Drawing on his background as a basketball player, Mitesh values teamwork and coordination on set to achieve cohesive and effective visual results.
