Umma Saini is a Global Brand & Creative Leader. Currently she is  the Director of Creative & Content at PhonePe, where she leads brand storytelling and content strategy for one of India’s largest fintech platforms. Previously, she served as Chief Creative Officer at Schbang, shaping integrated, digital-first campaigns at scale.


A graduate in Mass Media from University of Mumbai, Umma began her journey in advertising soon after college and has since built a strong, progressive career across some of the industry’s most influential agencies. Over the years, she has worked at leading global networks including Ogilvy & Mather and BBDO, where she held key leadership roles such as Creative Group Head and Creative Director. She also took on an international stint as Creative Director at BBDO Singapore. She later joined Google as Brand & Creative Lead India, driving integrated marketing and cross-functional creative initiatives at scale. Her career reflects a consistent rise through strategic and creative leadership roles, shaping culturally impactful work.


Her body of work includes campaigns for brands such as Google, Vodafone, Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, and Future Group. Notable work includes Ariel’s Share The Load and Sounds of India, reflecting her belief in creativity as a force that can shape culture and drive change.


Her work has received significant global recognition. She has been ranked No.1 Creative Director in India by Campaign Brief Asia and No.10 globally by the Big Won Report. Her accolades include multiple milestones: India’s first Gold Glass Lion at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, followed by another Gold in the same category, India’s first D&AD Awards Impact White Pencil, and a Creative Effectiveness Grand Prix at Spikes Asia. Her campaigns have also topped the WARC 100 rankings globally. She is also a regular mentor, speaker, and jury member at leading global platforms, including Cannes Lions.
