Senthil Kumar is an independent Creative Consultant & Director, and one of Asia’s most awarded creative leaders. Formerly the Chief Creative Officer at VML, he has been recognised as the youngest Indian on the Campaign Global Powerlist of The World’s Most Creative People, with a body of work that has earned over 300 international awards.
Over the years, Senthil has built a formidable reputation as both a creative leader and filmmaker. His Nike Cricket film Make Every Yard Count remains one of Asia’s most awarded campaigns, winning over 50 international honours, including 7 Cannes Lions, 3 One Show Gold Pencils, and 6 D&AD Pencils. With a personal tally of 22 Cannes Lions, including 3 Gold, he continues to rank among India’s most awarded creative professionals.
Beyond advertising, he has worked extensively as an independent writer and director, creating TV commercials, documentaries, music videos, viral experiments, and short films. He was also the first Indian Creative Director to be featured on YouTube’s homepage.
His influence extends across the global creative community—he has served on juries at Cannes Lions (Radio, 2008), the Clio Awards (2007), and the Andy Awards, and has chaired the Film and Integrated Jury at Goafest and the South Asian Regional Awards from 2013 to 2017.
