Vedashree Khambete-Sharma is an advertising professional, copywriter, and award-winning author—with an industry experience of two decades.
After graduating in Communication Management and Advertising from Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, Vedashree started her career in 2005, as a copywriter at Bates Enterprise, later moving on to Ogilvy as the creative supervisor. She then joined DDB Mudra Group as the associate creative director, before moving to Ideas@Work. Vedashree has also worked with the likes of FCB Interface and Network Advertising under several creative capacities.
Vedashree Khambete-Sharma is a writer and advertising professional who has spent the last two decades wrestling, romancing and occasionally making peace with the English language. Her career has meandered through advertising, journalism, poetry, novels, podcasts and copywriting.
As an advertising creative, she has won several Indian and international awards. As a poet, she bagged a silver medal at Shankar’s International Competition for her poem, 'Mathematics'.
Vedashree is also the author of the comic novel There May Be an Asterisk Involved (Hachette India) and the creator of Avantika Pandit, the sharp, crime-curious reporter at the centre of the thrillers Swear You Won’t Tell? (HarperCollins India) and Fatal Mistakes (Harper Black India). Her latest novel, What Will People Think?, was published by Corvus in November 2024. Beyond books, she has freelanced for several leading publications and even hosted a parenting podcast, Who’s Your Mommy?
