Rekha Nigam is a creative writer with over 35 years in the media and entertainment industry, spanning advertising, television, and cinema. She began her career in 1979 at Everest Advertising, just 19 years old, and went on to spend the following 21 years in advertising, creating campaigns such as Pan Parag 'Dhoom Machade Rang Jamade', Bajaj Allianz 'Jiyo Befikar', and the iconic 'Salaam Bombay' campaign that captured the spirit of resilience after the Mumbai bomb blasts.

At Trikaya, she led Indian Language Creative and worked on campaigns that became part of cultural memory, from rural education films to fashion and lifestyle brands. Her work has consistently reflected empathy and a deep interest in people’s lives—something she believes is the essence of good advertising.

After her advertising career, Rekha transitioned to television as Vice President of Programming at Sony Entertainment Television, where she helped shape its creative direction. She then made her mark in Hindi cinema as dialogue writer for Pradeep Sarkar's feature film, 'Parineeta', and as both screenwriter and dialogue writer for 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag'. Her ability to bring authenticity and lyrical beauty to storytelling earned her recognition as one of the industry’s most versatile voices.

Today, Rekha runs her own production house, Sutradhar Media and Communications, and is working on a web series for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, while also writing multiple film projects—including adaptations, women-centric narratives, and original screenplays. Additionally, she served on the jury of the Good Ads Matter Awards, India '25.
