Based in Mumbai Sooni Taraporevala is an Indian screenwriter, filmmaker, and photographer best known for writing the screenplays for internationally acclaimed films such as Salaam Bombay!, Mississippi Masala, and The Namesake, directed by her long-time collaborator Mira Nair.
