Raji Ramaswamy


CEO at Contract India, Raji has garnered a formidable reputation in the advertising industry with more than 25 years of experience. Before becoming the CEO of Contract, she headed JWT Kolkata and contributed to the success of JWT Mumbai, which worked with big clients such as Kellogg’s and DeBeers. She has collaborated with some of India’s top companies and brands including ITC, Tata Steel, Berger Paints and Exide.


Raji is well-known for building DeBeers' business in India and creating the world's first diamond brand, Nakshatra, followed by other successful brands. She also helped Kellogg's become a household name in the country and led the agency team in developing and launching Engage deo and fine fragrances from ITC. Her strategic skills have been instrumental in building Tata Steel's largest brands such as Tata Tiscon, Tata Shaktee, Tata Pravesh, and developing Tata Steel as a corporate brand.


In recognition of her influential leadership, Raji has been featured in Impact's Top 50 list of the most influential women in 2018 and was a member of J Walter Thompson's Global Diversity and Inclusion Council in 2017. She is also the recipient of the Telegraph She Leadership Award 2016/17. In her free time, Raji enjoys nature, travelling, adventure sports, arts, reading, and practicing yoga. She believes leadership is about having a clear vision and inspiring and empowering people to reach their full potential.
