Priya Seth IWCC, ISC is a Mumbai-based cinematographer whose body of work spans advertising, feature films, and series, with a distinctive expertise in underwater cinematography.


Beginning her career in 1996, Priya is also a co-founder of the Indian Women Cinematographers Collective (iwcc.in), an initiative aimed at building a more inclusive and supportive workplace for women in the Indian film industry. She served as a jury member at the Good Ads Matter Awards 2025 for the Visual Effects and Artificial Intelligence categories, and returned in 2026 as a jury member for the Editing and Colour Grading categories.


Her advertising portfolio includes campaigns such as Aditya Birla Capital – Chhoti Si Zindagi Mein Badi Udaan, Godrej No.1 Soap – Pack Change, Tanishq – Choice, and Engage Perfume, to name a few. Known for blending technical precision with a strong narrative eye, Priya brings a refined cinematic sensibility to branded storytelling.


Alongside her commercial work, Priya has established an acclaimed career in cinema. She began as an assistant on Deepa Mehta’s Earth (1998) and Jane Campion’s Holy Smoke! (1999), before her long-standing collaboration with director Raja Menon on Barah Aana (2009), Airlift (2016)—praised for its raw and authentic treatment—and Chef (2017). She has also shot the ZEE5 Original series Karenjit Kaur – The Untold Story of Sunny Leone.


Priya’s pioneering work in underwater cinematography has further distinguished her, with credits across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films, including the underwater sequences in Mardaani 2 and many other films.


Across advertising, film, and series, Priya’s work is defined by narrative sensitivity, versatility, and a commitment to visual storytelling that bridges artistry and brand impact.
