Nitin Menon is a freelance writer and director, with an experience of 15+ years in the Indian advertising landscape.
Nitin started his career in 2010, as a junior copywriter at 1PointSize, which he fondly calls his "first taste of advertising", and recalls to be the place where he fell in love with advertising. He then briefly worked at TBWA as a copywriter, before moving on to Purpose Vishnu Films as a writer and director's assistant. Before seguing on to his own path, he also served as a copywriter at Leo Burnett, and as associate creative director at Ogilvy.
Over the years, Nitin has honed his craft as a storyteller, with campaigns like OLX 'Make Your Mad' and 'Reuniting Memories', HE Deodorant 'Sexiest' campaign, Cadbury 5 Star #DoNothingHeroes, P&G #ChooseForChange, and Adidas 'Cricket is All In'.
His love for big ideas has earned him recognition at stages like Cannes Lions, One Show, Spikes Asia, along with a spot in Impact magazine’s “Top 30 Under 30” in Indian advertising, and the third place among the World Champions at Young Glory, 2017.
Fuelled by a passion for storytelling, Nitin later transitioned into direction, believing that every story—whether told in 30 seconds or two hours—deserves its canvas. His debut short film Applied (2011), a satirical take on arranged marriages in India, was made on a shoestring budget yet struck a chord globally. The film went viral on YouTube, and won the Audience Choice Award at ISFFI 2011.
Today, Nitin brings together his years of advertising experience and creative energy as both writer and director, eager to collaborate on compelling stories across formats, platforms, and geographies.
