Mayank Sharma is a self-taught photographer with a background in Computer Science Engineering from Ramaiah Institute of Technology. His foray into photography began in 2010, driven by an instinctive need to document stories, moments, and personalities beyond surface-level narratives.
Over the years, Mayank has developed a versatile practice that balances commercial assignments with personal storytelling projects. From 2010 to 2014, he documented the Indian music scene extensively—an endeavor that earned him recognition from MTV Noise Factory as one of the youngest music photographers in the country. He was also shortlisted for National Geographic's Cover Shot, Season 4, early in his career.
Mayank’s client portfolio includes Varun Bahl, L’Oréal, Vogue India, Amazon, Leela Hotels, Radisson, JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Leo Burnett, among others. Known for his ability to capture raw, emotional energy, he’s photographed several actors and performers including Anupam Kher, Rajat Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Ranveer Singh, Vaani Kapoor, and Vir Das, often capturing their most candid moments in backstage spaces.
His personal work spans festival photojournalism—notably Holi celebrations in Barsana and Nandgaon, featured in Vogue Italia (2014–2017)—as well as wildlife photography, with multiple visits to tiger reserves and national parks across India.
