Jason Billington

Academy Award nominated VFX Supervisor Jason Billington has over 20 years of experience creating highly acclaimed visual effects for some of the biggest movies of the last decade. Most recently, Jason was VFX Supervisor for the VES award winning and highly anticipated survival drama, Thirteen Lives from Director Ron Howard.

Prior to this, Jason led the team on Mortal Kombat, directed by Simon McQuoid.


Jason has been an integral member of MPC since the 2018 opening of the Adelaide studio. He brings with him outstanding leadership and an unbridled passion for visual imagery. He has worked as a VFX Supervisor on a variety of high-profile films including Skyscraper, Ghost in the Shell, and Deepwater Horizon, for which he earned an Academy Award® nomination.


With his strong background in compositing and on-set supervision, Jason is able to offer support to creatives from the inception of their vision to the final delivery of the film. He has collaborated with some of the industry’s most notable filmmakers, offering his creative and technical expertise on multiple visual effects-driven movies. Notable examples include Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World, four films from the Transformers franchise, Star Trek helmed by J.J. Abrams, James Cameron’s Avatar, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for Steven Spielberg.
