Anand Gandhi

Anand Gandhi is an Indian filmmaker, entrepreneur, media producer, innovator and systems researcher.


He is the founder/CEO of the new media studio and systems think tank Memesys Culture Lab.


His debut feature film Ship of Theseus (2013), which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival won the National Film Award for Best Picture.


Anand's film as creative director, executive producer and co-writer, Tumbbad opened the Critics' Week at the 75th Venice Film Festival, released to a wide critical acclaim in October 2018.


Anand has directed multiple notable narrative brand films. His work on the Vicks 'One In a Million' film garnered significant recognition, winning four Cannes Lions in 2019, making it one of the most awarded campaigns from India. The accolades included a Silver Lion and three Bronze Lions across various categories such as Creative Strategy, Film Craft, and Film Healthcare. Additionally, the film received three Silvers at Spikes Asia, recognizing achievements in Direction, Script, and Casting within the Filmcraft category.


Anand's involvement in the Lifebuoy 'Help a child reach 5' campaign resulted in it earning a Bronze Cannes Lion in 2017 for creative effectiveness. Furthermore, it received the "Grand Prix" in PR and a "Silver" in Healthcare at Spikes Asia 2016. Anand has also collaborated with brands such as Gillette and Google, among others.


Known for his unique filmmaking style, Anand has created impactful and award-winning campaigns such as Vicks #TouchOfCare & Vicks 'One In a Million', Gillette: Man Enough, and the recent AI-Shu.
