Anand Gandhi is an Indian filmmaker, entrepreneur, media producer, innovator, and systems researcher.


He is the Founder & CEO of Memesys Culture Lab, a new media studio and systems think tank, and the Founder of Department of Love, an initiative crafting 21st-century mythologies to positively shape humanity’s future. At the forefront of a storytelling renaissance, he pioneers monumental intellectual properties that resonate with global audiences across interconnected media.


Known for his distinctive storytelling that captures India’s cultural nuances, Anand has created films such as Vicks #TouchOfCare, Vicks ‘One in a Million’, Gillette: Man Enough, and AI-Shu. His Vicks ‘One in a Million’ film became one of India’s most awarded campaigns at Cannes Lions 2019, winning four Lions—including a Silver and three Bronzes—alongside multiple Spikes Asia wins for Direction, Script, and Casting.


His work on Lifebuoy’s ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ earned a Bronze Cannes Lion in 2017 for Creative Effectiveness, as well as the Grand Prix in PR and a Silver in Healthcare at Spikes Asia 2016. He has also collaborated with brands like Google and Gillette.


Outside advertising, Anand’s debut feature film Ship of Theseus (2013) premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and won the National Film Award for Best Picture. His critically acclaimed Tumbbad (2018), where he served as creative director, executive producer, and co-writer, opened Critics’ Week at the 75th Venice Film Festival.


Anand frequently speaks at masterclasses and industry panels on filmmaking, culture, and the impact of stories.
