Albert Salas is a cinematographer and visual storyteller born in Barcelona, whose work spans cinematography and photography across films, commercials, and music videos. After spending nearly a decade living in New York, he now lives and works between Spain and the United States, collaborating on international productions across multiple visual formats.
Salas’ first feature film as director of photography, Obey (2018), marked an important breakthrough and earned him the Cinematography Debut award at the Camerimage Film Festival as well as Best Cinematography at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Over the course of his career, Salas has built a strong body of work across feature films, music videos, and branded content. His commercial cinematography has received international recognition, including a Gold at the Cannes Lions Festival in 2025 for his work on Renault’s ‘Historias de Argentina’ commercial. He has also received awards at Cyclope, D&AD, AICP, and Shots.
Salas has collaborated with several global brands including Nike, Puma, WhatsApp, Whirlpool, Renault, and Volvo, bringing his cinematic visual language to international advertising campaigns.
