Sylvester Fonseca, ISC, is a cinematographer with over a decade of experience across advertising, feature films, and streaming platforms. A graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, he has built a diverse body of work spanning commercials, independent cinema, and mainstream productions.


Alongside his work in film and television, Sylvester has maintained a strong presence in advertising, collaborating with directors and brands across categories. His commercial portfolio includes campaigns for Fevicol, Dream11, Ariel's #ShareTheLoad, Nokia, Vodafone, Policybazaar, PharmEasy, Licious, Dr. Fixit, and others.


His feature film and streaming credits include Island City, which premiered at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival, Sacred Games, Lust Stories, Choked, Kennedy, The Railway Men, and Amar Singh Chamkila. He served as cinematographer on Amar Singh Chamkila, directed by Imtiaz Ali and released on Netflix in 2024. His most recent feature film credit is Main Vaapas Aaunga (2026), an Imtiaz Ali-directed period romance starring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari.


In 2024, Sylvester received his second Filmfare Award and was inducted into the Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC). Known for adapting his visual approach to the needs of each story, he continues to work across advertising and long-form storytelling, developing a body of work that spans a range of genres, formats, and visual styles.
