Suresh Selvarajan is a distinguished production designer and art director across Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi cinema. With a BFA in painting from Pondicherry University and early acclaim for his watercolour work, he brings a painter’s eye to immersive, detail-rich set design.
He began his professional journey under the mentorship of production design legend Sabu Cyril, contributing to fourteen major films over nearly a decade, including Enthiran (Robot). His evolution from assistant art director in productions such as Om Shanti Om, Aladin, Ra.One, and Agneepath to leading art director on Krrish 3 and Yaan showcased his burgeoning creative leadership
As a full-fledged production designer, Suresh delivered visually commanding work on films like Brothers, Iru Mugan, Bharath Ane Nenu, Petta, and Acharya — notable for elaborate, large-scale sets such as the 20-acre town of Dharmasthali. He also created a detailed temple set for Bharath Ane Nenu.
His recent contribution to Animal—crafting a fully functional 500 kg steel war machine and pioneering India’s earliest use of 3D printing to produce a cinematic mask (for Kick)—underscores his commitment to practical design innovation
Beyond film, Suresh regularly shares his expertise as a guest lecturer at FTII, Pune, nurturing the next generation of visual storytellers.
