Suresh Eriyat is the Founder & Creative Director of Studio Eeksaurus and one of India’s most influential animators and storytellers.

An alumnus of the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, where he specialised in Communication Design with a focus on Animation Film Design, Suresh has spent more than two decades redefining animation in India, with more than 500 films to his credit.

Suresh began his animation journey in 1998 by founding the Famous House of Animation, a pioneering venture that spearheaded India’s early animated commercials, music videos, and shorts—transforming animation into a powerful storytelling medium in the country.

In 2009, along with his wife Nilima Eriyat, he launched Studio Eeksaurus, a production house creating films across cinema, television, web, and digital platforms. Over 16 years, the studio has produced over 250 films, won more than 200 national and international accolades, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clio, and AdFest, and made history as the only Indian studio to win the prestigious Annecy Cristal Award (2015). The studio also boasts two National Film Awards for Best Animated Film from the President of India.

In 2025, Suresh’s work Desi Oon won two Golds at the Good Ads Matter Awards—for Best Animation Film and Best Animation + CGI Integrated Advertising—and a Silver for VERSUS Pune Design Festival (PDF) in the Best Animation Film category.

Suresh’s portfolio includes commercials for Rajasthan Tourism, KitKat, Daikin, Google, Park Avenue, Horlicks, JSW Steel, and many more. His acclaimed independent works—Fisherwoman and Tuk Tuk, Tokri, and Kandittund!—all earned National Film Awards for Best Non-Feature Animation Film. His film Fateline, created in collaboration with Rotary and JWT Kolkata, won the Annecy Cristal, cementing global recognition for Indian animation.

Beyond creating award-winning films, Suresh is a sought-after mentor, speaker, and jury member at prestigious platforms including the Good Ads Matter Awards, Clio, D&AD, One Show, and Asia-Pacific AdFest.

Known for his nuanced storytelling, rhythmic visuals, and deep cultural sensibility, he continues to inspire and shape the next generation of animators through masterclasses and advisory roles at leading design and animation institutes across India.
