Sambit Mohanty | Good Ads Matter, India's Top 1%

Sambit Mohanty is currently the Executive Vice President & Creative Head at McCann Bangalore, overseeing both creative vision and business strategy for the office. He was elevated to this dual leadership role in May 2025.


An alumnus of IIMC New Delhi, Sambit has built a two-decade career across top agencies including Lintas, DDB Mudra Group, Leo Burnett, Elephant Design, and JWT, where he served as National Creative Director, overseeing creative output for JWT’s largest South Asia office. In 2020, he returned to McCann Worldgroup as Creative Head (North & South), and has since taken on expanded responsibilities in Bangalore.


His notable works include “Shagun Ka Lifafa” – Ujjivan Bank, a pioneering activation campaign that won a Gold Lion at Cannes in the Creative Commerce category, marking McCann Bengaluru’s first Gold Lion in history. He has also crafted powerful campaigns for clients like Flipkart, ITC Foods, Britannia, and Coca-Cola.


Sambit’s work has been recognized across multiple national and international platforms like Cannes Lions, D&AD, Spikes Asia, Effies, and Abbey Awards. Additionally, his creative print work has been named among the world’s best by Adweek, and his Gillette film became one of the most viewed cricket ads on YouTube.


An avid quizzer, Sambit was a finalist in BBC Mastermind and the national winner of the Brand Equity Quiz.
