Razneesh Ghai (popularly known as Razy) is the Founder and Director at Asylum Films, a production company based in Mumbai.

He began his career with MTV, where he contributed to the music television space in India, and later went on to co-found VH1 India. With this early grounding in youth culture and content, Razy transitioned into advertising filmmaking, building a body of work for several brands.

Growing up as an Army kid in Wellington, a quiet town in the Nilgiris, Razy developed a passion for cinema through screenings of World War II films and Spaghetti Westerns. He kept journals of his reflections after each film, a practice that shaped his storytelling instincts and eventually steered him towards a career in filmmaking.

Over the last decade, Razy is known for his distinctive visual style, narrative flair, and ability to blend cinematic craft with brand storytelling. His work spans a wide range of categories, from lifestyle and e-commerce to sports and beverages, and often carries an undercurrent of cinematic energy that reflects his early influences.

His commercials include campaigns for Jabong (“You’re the Festival”), Tinder (“Maze”), Thums Up (“The Real Heroes”), Flipkart (“Casual”), Tata AIG ft. Ranbir Kapoor and Rohit Shetty, Indian Super League brand films, HRX, and Cadbury.

Beyond advertising, Razy has also ventured into feature filmmaking, further exploring his visual sensibilities on a larger canvas.
