Ranadeep Dasgupta, often known as “Rono,” currently serves as the National Creative Director at VML India and Studio X INSWA, bringing over 15 years of experience in strategic brand communication.
Rono began his advertising journey in unconventional ways—initially at a production house, later working as a music CD salesperson at Planet M, before transitioning into the advertising world. He has since delivered creative leadership across top agencies including Bates, Rediffusion, Ogilvy, and 82.5 Communications (as Creative Head, North). In January 2020, he was appointed Executive Creative Director (North) at Publicis India, partnering with NCDs and leading the Delhi creative team.
Rono's creative portfolio spans a diverse set of industries. His clients have included Limca, Philips, Max Life Insurance, Vistara, Havells, Lava Mobiles, Luminous, Emami, Coca-Cola, Doordarshan, Eicher Motors, Honda, Taco Bell, and Mother Dairy Cow Milk, among others. In his current role at VML, he extends this multidisciplinary leadership to newer and evolving brand challenges.
He has received recognition at IMPACT Magazine: 30 Under 30 (2014), Big Won Report 2015 where ranked among the Top 100 Copywriters in the World, Cannes Lions Jury Member (Direct category, 2019). Rono values creative leadership that uplifts teams and transforms brand narratives. His work has consistently been described as emotionally intelligent and culturally relevant.
