Nimish Kotwal is a celebrated production designer and visual storyteller. With over 400 commercials to his name, Nimish’s creative journey spans collaborations with some of the most visionary Indian and international directors.
A graduate in both interior design and advertising, Nimish brings a multidimensional understanding of space, form, and storytelling to every project he helms. His mastery lies in transforming abstract concepts into textured visual experiences.
In 2017, he founded The School of Thought, India’s pioneering institute for Production and Exhibition Design. Through it, he’s mentored a new generation of design thinkers, while continuing to teach at the L.S. Raheja School of Architecture for over eight years. His deep passion for design education is matched by his precision on set—where every frame becomes an exercise in thoughtful composition.
From global giants like H&M, Levi’s, and Google to culturally nuanced campaigns for CRED, Durex, and Tira, his advertising landscape is quite diverse.
In 2025, Nimish’s campaign for Tira – The House Party bagged Gold at the Good Ads Matter Awards, and he was selected as a jury member at the Shots Asia Pacific Awards, in the Cinematography category.
