Manoj Pillai

Manoj Pillai is a Director and Founder of Thinkpot Films, a production company based out of Bangalore.

Manoj Pillai, a mechanical engineer by qualification, embarked on his professional journey in advertising as a copywriter at McCann Erickson, Bangalore. Driven by his innate passion for storytelling, Manoj transitioned into the realm of filmmaking.

Throughout his career, Manoj has lent his creative vision to crafting over 300 commercials for an impressive array of brands, including global giants such as American Express, Intel, and Google, as well as Indian icons like Indian Super League, Nike, and Puma, among many others.

His contributions to the advertising industry have earned him acclaim both nationally and internationally, with prestigious accolades from esteemed institutions such as D&AD, Clio, Campaign Age and more.

Notably, Manoj holds the Inspired Indian award in high regard, presented by the Honourable Governor of Karnataka, Shri H.R. Bharadwaj, for his impactful film 'Google – The Long Walk,' which inspired numerous first-time voters in India.

Furthermore, Manoj's commercial for Air Deccan, titled 'The Old Man and the Sky,' received widespread acclaim and was hailed as one of the top three commercials in thirty years of Indian advertising by India Today, showcasing the depth of his storytelling prowess and creative excellence.

His recent portfolio includes various esteemed brands. Notable among them are the the dynamic Cult Spot - The Maidaan called India, Puma campaign titled "Let there be sport," and Axis Bank campaigns, among others.
