Based in Madrid & London
Geray Mena is a visual artist who currently resides and works in both Madrid and London. After completing his BA from Gerrit Rietveld Academie, he embarked on a creative journey that revolves around the production of meticulously detailed staged images. These images serve as a critical exploration of the semiotics of contemporary image production, occupying a space that blurs the boundaries between autonomous and applied art.
Spanning various mediums such as photography, video, and installation, Geray's artistic practice is multifaceted and dynamic. His work draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, encompassing seventeenth-century Spanish and Dutch paintings as well as early advertising imagery.
