Eka Lakhani is a costume designer, stylist, wardrobe consultant, and entrepreneur—founder of Team-E, a collective of editorial, celebrity, and film stylists.

Apart from advertising, Eka's work spans Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu cinema. Known for her meticulous research, narrative-driven approach, and ability to bring characters to life through clothing, she has collaborated with filmmakers such as Mani Ratnam, Rajkumar Hirani, Karan Johar, and Gautham Menon.

Eka’s journey began with a strong academic foundation in fashion. She studied at SNDT Women’s University in Mumbai before honing her craft further at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York. While in the U.S., she gained first-hand exposure to global fashion by assisting designers at the New York Fashion Week.

Her career in cinema began unexpectedly in 2010 when she worked as an intern for Sabyasachi Mukherjee on Mani Ratnam’s 'Raavan'.

Impressed by her work, Mani Ratnam brought her on as the principal costume designer for 'Kadal' (2013), beginning a decade-long creative partnership that has since produced projects like 'O Kadhal Kanmani' (2015), 'Kaatru Veliyidai' (2017), 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam' (2018), and the historical series 'Ponniyin Selvan' (2022–2023). Their latest project together, 'Thug Life' (2025), continues their long-standing creative synergy.

Eka’s versatility extends beyond historical dramas—she has worked on contemporary feature films like 'Sanju' (2018), 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' (2023), 'Dunki' (2023), and OTT anthologies like 'Lust Stories' (2018).

She has, as well, styled the likes of the Ambani family, Ranveer Singh, Sara Tendulkar, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Karan Johar, and Vicky Kaushal for commercial work.

A combination of artistry and precision, Eka's designs seamlessly blend character psychology, narrative demands, and visual spectacle.
