Dhruv Warrior has recently been appointed as Executive Creative Director at VML India, WPP’s marketing transformation company. Based in Bangalore, he reports directly to CCO Kalpesh Patankar and joins a leadership team that includes CEO Babita Baruah and Sachin Dhir, working to elevate VML’s creative output with strategic boldness and cultural resonance.
Dhruv began his advertising career at JWT Bangalore in 2007, initially in account management before quickly transitioning to the creative side. He then spent over five years in the Middle East as Associate Creative Director at VMLY&R Dubai, where the agency earned notable accolades—including being ranked the 3rd best agency worldwide for craft by Cannes Lions (2018) and named MENA Agency of the Decade (2020).
Upon returning to India, he took on the role of National Creative Director at FoxyMoron, where he crafted purpose-led, culturally inclusive campaigns across diverse sectors.
His landmark campaigns include Nike – “Bleed Blue” (Nike Cricket Campaign) and Nike – “Make Every Yard Count”. Another Nike campaign that became the 6th most awarded TV and film campaign globally, as recorded in the Big Won Report.
In recognition of his craft, Dhruv has won multiple Cannes Lions, was named among the Top 100 copywriters worldwide in 2015 (Big Won Report), and was featured in India's Top 30 creatives under 30 (2014). Dhruv served on the jury for the Direct category at Cannes Lions (2019).
Dhruv speaks of creative leadership as the "engine of transformation"—one that drives strategy, media, engagement, and innovation. He's motivated by the convergence of digital insight, cultural nuance, and storytelling in modern advertising.
