David Procter


David, a Director of Photography, is an alumnus of the Berlinale Talent Campus. He is currently based in London and Los Angeles. His debut feature film, Bypass, had its world premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival. It was also nominated for Cinematographer's Debut at Camerimage and won the Grand Prize at the Goldeneye Cinematography Festival. Another one of his films, Blood Cells, premiered at the Venice Film Festival and received a nomination for The Michael Powell Award at Edinburgh.


David worked on the Netflix Original Series called The Innøcents, starring Guy Pearce. This dark Scandinavian/UK drama was Netflix's first European 4K HDR show and premiered in 190 countries in August 2018. David's most recent project is the biopic Black Beauty, directed by Ashley Avis for Disney. The film was shot on location in South Africa and New York, featuring Kate Winslet, Iain Glen, Mackenzie Foy, and Claire Forlani. It was released on Disney+ in late 2020 and was selected for Camerimage's 'Contemporary World Cinema' program.


Although David started in documentary filmmaking, he now specializes in shooting dramas and commercials on an international scale. He has experience working in over 40 countries worldwide. His work has received recognition and awards at prestigious events such as Abu Dhabi and Cannes Lions. He has also been nominated for various awards including BIFA, VMA, and Manaki Brothers, as well as receiving six nominations for the Golden Frogs at the Camerimage Festival for the Art of Cinematography. In 2022, David was invited to join the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC).


He has worked for brands like Puma, Netflix, Issey Miyake, Nike, Google, Diesel and QATAR Women's World Cup among several others.
