Björn Engström started out as a journalist but changed to copywriting already in the ‘70s. In 1988 he joined Forsman & Bodenfors as copywriter and partner. The agency has been among the top creative agencies in the world for more than a decade, and was named Independent Agency of The Year at Cannes Lions 2014.
Björn Engström is one of the creatives behind the Epic Split and Volvo Trucks Live Test Series. He believes that the change to digital is the best thing that has happened to the advertising business.
He has been awarded numerous lions, pencils and other awards throughout the years. Lately he picked up Best of Show and six Golds at the One Show, three Yellow Pencils and one Black at D&AD, and two Grand Prix and eight Golds at Cannes Lions.
Apart from advertising, Björn Engström is deeply involved in the issue of homelessness. He is the chairman of the board of the Swedish street paper Faktum.
