Ali Ali

Based in Egypt

Born in Egypt, Ali Ali initially pursued a degree in Computer Engineering at the American University in Cairo. However, realizing his passion for storyboards outweighed his interest in motherboards, he swiftly left programming behind and instead pursued studies in Art Direction at the Miami Ad School. Starting as a junior art director at D’Arcy Bucharest, Ali progressed to establish an impressive international career as both an art director and creative director, working with esteemed agencies like Leagas Delaney, JWT, Leo Burnett, and culminating in his role as the Executive Creative Director (ECD) of DDB Berlin.

Ali made his directorial debut with 'Never Say No To Panda,' a project that garnered him a prestigious Cannes Gold Lion Award. The campaign achieved incredible success, accumulating over 100 million views on YouTube and earning recognition from The Guardian as "one of the most watched viral campaigns of all time." Since then, Ali has directed more than 70 commercials for renowned brands including Vodafone, Google, Coca-Cola, Budweiser, and Amazon. His exceptional work has garnered numerous accolades, including the esteemed D&AD Yellow Pencil for Best Director in 2015 and another Cannes Gold Lion in 2019 for his Diesel advertisement.

Recognized by The Gunn Report as one of the top ten most awarded film directors globally, Ali Ali has also been ranked among the top ten Directors to make a significant impact in advertising, alongside figures like Taika Waititi. Additionally, he recently received another Gold award at the One Show 2020 for his Diesel commercial.

He is also the co-founder of Good People Films. In the USA, he is represented by Little Minx Films and in the UK by Arts And Sciences.
