Tristan Oliver


Having worked as a cinematographer for three decades, Tristan Oliver's career has been characterised by his expertise in stop-frame animation. Notably, he has enjoyed a longstanding collaboration with director Nick Park, resulting in several Academy Award-winning films such as "Wrong Trousers," "A Close Shave," and "Curse of the Wererabbit." His collaborations with other directors have also yielded successful projects, including BAFTA winners like "Stage Fright" and "The Big Story," as well as popular feature films like "Chicken Run" and the Academy Award-nominated "ParaNorman."


In recent years, he has developed a close working relationship with Wes Anderson, serving as the Director of Photography for Anderson's Academy Award-nominated films "Fantastic Mr. Fox" and "Isle of Dogs." Additionally, he has worked as the model unit Director of Photography on "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "The French Despatch." Recently, he has completed projects such as "Coppelia," "Where is Anne Frank?," and "The Trouble with Jessica."


In the domain of advertising, he has worked with brands like Lego, Sony, Reebok and Deliveroo among others.


Furthermore, he is a member of both the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC) and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
