Sunder Balasubramanian is the Chief Marketing Officer at Myntra, where he leads customer growth, marketing, creative, and catalog strategy for one of India’s most influential fashion and lifestyle platforms.
An ISB alumnus, Sunder brings over 20 years of experience spanning consumer tech, FMCG, and advertising, with deep expertise in driving growth agendas, brand and marketing strategy, P&L ownership, category creation, digital marketing, innovation, and large-team leadership.
He began his career on the agency side at McCann Worldgroup, before moving into FMCG with Colgate-Palmolive, where he spent 13 years across Sales and Marketing. Rising through the ranks to become Category Head – Toothpaste Marketing, Sunder was responsible for the $500 million toothpaste business, driving P&L delivery, brand equity growth, innovation pipelines, and market leadership in one of India’s most competitive FMCG categories.
Post Colgate, he transitioned into the consumer-tech and media ecosystem, taking on senior marketing leadership roles at Disney+ Hotstar and Coupang. At Disney+ Hotstar, he led brand marketing, content marketing, and customer acquisition for the subscriptions business during a phase of rapid scale and market expansion. At Coupang, he played a key role in international market launches, managing the marketing rollout in Taiwan and Japan and helping establish the brand in new geographies.
At Myntra, Sunder currently oversees end-to-end marketing and growth mandates—spanning customer acquisition and retention, brand storytelling, creative excellence, and catalog strategy—at the intersection of fashion, culture, technology, and commerce.
Known for his cross-industry perspective, Sunder combines the discipline of FMCG brand-building with the speed and experimentation of digital-first platforms, making him a marketer equally comfortable scaling iconic categories and building new ones from the ground up.
