Shreya Dev Dube is a cinematographer from Kolkata, currently based in Mumbai.
She studied photography in Melbourne and later specialised in cinematography at EICAR, Paris. Her first feature as cinematographer, Cat Sticks (2019), a Bengali black-and-white film, premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival where it won the Grand Jury Prize. She went on to shoot and produce Bittu (2020), which premiered at Telluride and was shortlisted for the 93rd Academy Awards.
In advertising, Shreya has worked on campaigns such as ISUZU V-Cross and Hi-Lander – Who Am I?, Raw Mango – Between, and MINI – Jim versus Jim, among others.
Her style is often marked by an instinctive use of natural light and a sensitivity to atmosphere, creating visuals that feel both textured and intimate.
She was also one of the cinematographers on Mira Nair’s BBC series A Suitable Boy (2020). Her work on the Netflix feature Thar (2022) earned her the Asian Creative Academy Award for Best Cinematographer and the ITA Award.
Her most recent feature, Ulajh, had a worldwide release.
