Shantanu Moitra is a renowned Indian music composer, pianist, and storyteller, celebrated for his scores in Hindi and Bengali cinema.
His breakthrough came with the film Parineeta (2005), earning him the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent. He further solidified his reputation with memorable compositions for Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), 3 Idiots (2009), and PK (2014).
Beyond his film work, Moitra has an extensive background in advertising. He began his career as a client servicing executive in an ad agency, where his passion for music led him to compose the iconic jingle “Bole mere lips, I love Uncle Chipps” for Uncle Chipps. This success marked the beginning of his journey in composing over 2,000 advertising jingles.
Moitra's versatility extends to Bengali cinema, with notable works like Antaheen (2009), which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. He also composed the background score for the Telugu film Naa Bangaaru Talli (2013), earning the National Film Award for Best Music Direction.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Moitra is an avid trekker, photographer, and amateur astronomer. He has authored a Bengali book titled Ferrari Mon - Memories by Shantanu Moitra, sharing his experiences and reflections.
