Rupert Fernandes is a celebrated Indian composer, musician, and guitarist whose melodies have become deeply embedded in India's advertising and film soundscape.
He began his journey crafting jingles that blended Indian classical and contemporary influences with a memorable touch—most notably the Hutch/Vodafone jingle "You & I", inspired by Irish folk music, which became iconic alongside the brand’s pug mascot.
Rupert extended his musical talents into Bollywood, contributing to acclaimed films such as Sarfarosh (1999), Hope Aur Hum (2018), for which he created the entire soundtrack using just a guitar, Twenty-One Hours (2022), The Turn Ahead (2022), and the iDiva web film Nip in the Bud.
In the advertising world, his music has powered memorable campaigns like Honda’s “Bring Back the Feeling”, Glacéau Smartwater’s “Rana and Smartwater” and “Radhika and Smartwater”, Blue Star’s “Cools the Boss”, Nestlé KitKat (ft. Anushka Sharma), and Cadbury’s “The Story of Us” by Zoya Akhtar, among others. His client roster spans giants like ICICI, Britannia, and Bridgestone India.
Rupert's remarkable ear for mood and his mastery over texture make his compositions resonate across screens.
