Rooted Films is an advertising production company founded by filmmaker Ronak Chugh. Specialising in commercial films, branded content and digital storytelling, the company collaborates with agencies, brands and directors to create campaigns that combine authentic storytelling with contemporary visual craft.
Built around a filmmaker-led approach, Rooted Films works across lifestyle, technology, retail and entertainment, supporting projects from creative development through to final production. The studio's work is characterised by strong performances, thoughtful execution and narrative-driven storytelling.
The company's first production, The Unfiltered History Tour for VICE, became the most awarded Indian campaign in the history of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, winning India's first Titanium Lion, 3 Grand Prix, 1 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 Bronze Lions. The campaign also received 18 Pencils at The One Show (7 Gold, 9 Silver and 2 Bronze) and 8 Pencils at the D&AD Awards (1 Yellow, 4 Graphite and 3 Wood Pencils).
At the Good Ads Matter Awards 2026, The Hindu – Written by Journalists won a Bronze in the Film Craft category. The studio's portfolio also includes The Unfiltered History Tour, The Hindu – Written by Journalists, campaigns for Britannia, and Swiggy – Why Is This a Swiggy Ad?, among others.
Over the years, productions by Rooted Films have received recognition at Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Spikes Asia and the Good Ads Matter Awards, reflecting the studio's commitment to craft-led commercial storytelling.
