Rekha Rane is a seasoned marketing and communications leader with nearly 15 years of experience in building brands, shaping consumer behaviour, and driving engagement across technology-driven businesses. With a deep understanding of e-commerce and subscription video-on-demand (SVOD), she has played a pivotal role in introducing and expanding global brands like Amazon.in, Prime Video, and Netflix in Indian households. Her expertise lies in brand strategy, integrated marketing campaigns, and consumer insights, enabling her to drive subscription growth, audience engagement, and cultural impact.


Rekha’s career began at Orange (UK) in retail sales, where she rapidly progressed to store leadership. She then gained experience in retail marketing with Reliance Brands Ltd., working with global fashion labels Diesel and Superdry, and interned at Leo Burnett, contributing to brand strategy for P&G Tide.


Later, Rekha held key marketing roles at Amazon India, where she led national and regional brand campaigns for Amazon.in, played a crucial role in the GTM strategy for Prime Video’s India launch, and managed integrated marketing communications (IMC) campaigns that shaped the platform’s positioning in the Indian market.


In her current role as Head of Brand & Slate Marketing at Netflix India, Rekha leads a team responsible for brand-building, media strategy, and marketing efforts across Netflix’s diverse content slate, including global, licensed, and original productions. She also spearheads new initiatives such as Netflix Games, ensuring the brand remains relevant and resonant across evolving consumer segments.


A strong academic foundation backs Rekha’s strategic and analytical approach. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration (Marketing) from MICA, where she specialised in Market Research, was awarded Best Dissertation of the Year, and won a Gold Medal in Research. She also served as the General Secretary of MICA’s Student Affairs Council and was an active member of the MICAMINDS Research & Consultancy Cell. Rekha earned her BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Aberdeen, a background that informs her deep understanding of consumer behaviour and decision-making.
