Rangarajan Ramabadran is a Mumbai-based cinematographer with an FTII background and significant experience in both Marathi and Hindi cinema.
Following his debut with Moi Marjaani, he went on to serve as Director of Photography on Marathi films such as Happy Journey and Kamakshi, and the 2018 slice-of-life feature Chumbak. His later work includes Shikara (2020), directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and Good Luck Jerry (2022), which further showcased his ability to bring texture and authenticity to varied narratives.
In advertising, Rangarajan has brought his visual precision to campaigns including Absolut India's India Journey, Dulux's Simply Refresh, 24 Mantra Organic, Airtel Thanks, the India Soccer League in Kolkata, Swiggy’s Santa, Men of Platinum, The string theory - Morning song of India and MBB’s Manoj Bajpayee campaign.
His work on 12th Fail (2023) earned him accolades for Best Cinematography, recognising how his grounded visuals coupled seamlessly with the film’s narrative.
