R Anandh is a prolific music composer with over 20 years of experience and a remarkable catalogue of more than 5,000 commercial scores. A Chennai native, his musical journey began with the veena at age seven, eventually crossing paths with engineering at Roorkee—only to return to his passion for music through guitar-led college bands.
Upon graduation, he joined Prasad Media as a composer, and later, after the studio's closure, co-founded a home studio called Aqua Regia. Together with partners, he ventured into composing music not just for ads, but for Tamil and Malayalam films as well. Alongside this, the trio formed the band Agosh, which released the album Paisa and even scored the Bollywood film Zor (1997).
R Anandh is behind some of India's most memorable jingles, having produced music for Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, Fanta, Sprite, and Limca, among others—and extended his impact across both South India and Mumbai.
His foray back into film music was reinvigorated in 2010 when director Pradeep Sarkar invited him to compose a scratch for Lafangey Parindey, which ultimately earned widespread acclaim—a rare and meaningful return to cinema for a composer dedicated to the art of advertising.
