Mukund Olety


Mukund Olety is the Chief Creative Officer at VMLY&R India, leading the creative for the network's three offices. He integrates creative offerings while focusing on merging creativity, technology, and culture to create connected work that brings brands fame and fortune. With almost two decades of experience, Mukund has worked in various markets, including India, China, and Southeast Asia. He has worked with Leo Burnett, Ogilvy, and CP+B and was previously with BBDO in China.


Within a year of joining VMLY&R, India, he successfully placed the agency on the global map. He achieved this by leading the team to win a Grand Prix and multiple Lions at Cannes, which is a significant accomplishment. As a result, VMLY&R India was ranked No.3 on the Cannes Lions APAC Ranking for the first time ever under his leadership. Before this, he led the creative teams at BBDO China for Mars Wrigley, Visa, and Volkswagen. Additionally, he has worked with Leo Burnett in Malaysia and Ogilvy in India.


Mukund has worked on several renowned brands, such as Intel, McDonald’s, Nike, and Coca-Cola, earning him over a hundred global awards. He is a firm believer in diversity breeding creativity, and as such, he always strives to create new and exciting work. In addition to his work, Mukund has given back to the industry, serving on numerous jury panels and mentoring young creatives.
