Mukund is currently Chief Creative Officer at VML– under his leadership, taking the agency to No. 3 on the Cannes Lions APAC Ranking, for the first time ever. Here, he has also been consistently ranked among the Top 100 Chief Creative Officers in the world.
Starting his professional journey in 2003 as a Copywriter at i-Vista Digital Solutions, Mukund went on to become a creative at DDB Mudra Group, and shortly after, the likes of JWT and Ogilvy as creative director. In his stints at Leo Burnett as associate creative director, and at BBDO as group creative director, he led the agencies to numerous national and international awards.
Even now at VML, leading a team of over 200 creatives across three offices in India, Mukund has already brought home over a hundred international awards, including a Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions, and a White Pencil at D&AD. Both his campaigns for Coke Studio Bharat, ‘Khalasi’ and 'The Girl Who Played the Tutary', have won at the Cannes Lions.
With a knack for merging creativity, technology, and culture to crack briefs and create narratives that not only bring brands success but also resonates with the audience, his work speaks for itself. Mukund is a firm believer in diversity breeding creativity, always striving to create new and exciting work.
Mukund’s career has seen him shape brands such as The Coca-Cola Company, Dell, Colgate, Unilever, IDFC First Bank, Mars Wrigley, Volkswagen, Mercedes, McDonald’s, Carlsberg, Samsung, Durex, and Nike.
In addition to his work, Mukund has given back to the industry, serving on numerous jury panels and mentoring young creatives.
Passionate about giving back, Mukund actively mentors young talent, and has served on juries such as that of the Cannes Lions.
