Matt Chandler is the Executive Creative Director of DDB Sydney.
Having joined the agency as Senior Copywriter in 2013, he was promoted to Creative Director in 2016, Deputy ECD in 2019 and ECD in 2021. While at DDB, Matt has created award-winning campaigns for the agency’s roster of iconic clients and been a part of more than a few key new business wins. While working in Sydney and London, Matt has made campaigns for TV, radio, outdoor, social and digital. In addition, he made one giant lunchbox, minted 10,000 silver coins, designed an interactive piece of sushi and launched a bank account that now has over 60,000 customers.
Matt's work has been recognised multiple times at shows including Cannes, D&AD, One Show, Spikes, NY Festivals, LIA Awards, AWARD, Adstars, Facebook Awards, AdNews Awards, B&T Awards, Ciclope, Creative Circle and Campaign Big.
An active participant in the industry, Matt has tutored and judged AWARD School on several occasions, as well as judging the AWARD Awards, APAC Effies, BADC and Cannes Young Lions, and serving as a mentor for the Free the Bid program. In 2019, Matt was the sole creative listed on AdNews Top 20 Emerging Leaders list. In 2021, Matt was named the National Head of AWARD School, the industry’s famed course for aspiring creatives.
