Mahak Gupta | Good Ads Matter, India's Top 1%

Mahak Gupta is a freelance senior colorist and educator. She started her career in 2010 as a data manager and on-set editor during India's celluloid-to-digital transition—a background that informs her meticulous approach to post-production workflows.

Since 2016, Mahak has been a key member of Bridge PostWorks, where she has shaped the visual tone of acclaimed films and shorts. Notable works include Achal Mishra’s Gamak Ghar (2019) and Shaunak Sen’s All That Breathes (2022)—the latter earning a Grand Jury Award at Sundance, a Golden Eye at Cannes, an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature, and an ASC Award.

Her portfolio extends to compelling narratives like Shoebox (nominated for the FilmLight Colour Awards 2022), The Mirror in Lust Stories 2 (2023), Indi(r)a’s Emergency (2023), All India Rank (2024), Waack Girls, Rapture, Dhuin, and Berlinale-shortlisted Anaar Daana (2024).

Beyond her grading work, Mahak is an inspiring educator—conducting color grading and digital imaging workshops for cinematography students at SRFTI and across India. She also co-founded The Colorists Workshop, nurturing emerging talent. In 2024, she served as a jury member for the FilmLight Colour Awards.
