Luciana is a highly experienced creative professional with an impressive career spanning over 23 years across four different continents. She began her journey in her hometown of São Paulo, Brazil, working for renowned agencies like Leo Burnett, Ogilvy, and Grey Worldwide. In a remarkable achievement, she won her first Cannes Lion and One Show pencil within her initial five years as an art director, demonstrating her exceptional talent and dedication.
After a decade in Brazil, Luciana embarked on a new chapter in Portugal, where she joined the Leo Burnett team in Lisbon. Over the course of nine years, she steadily climbed the ranks from senior art director to the esteemed position of Executive Creative Director. Leading with a collaborative and non-hierarchical approach, she fostered a culture of teamwork and innovation, resulting in numerous international and national awards. Under her creative leadership, Leo Burnett consistently ranked among the top creative agencies in Portugal, and Luciana was honored as the "Best Creative Director" by the Creative Club of Portugal on three separate occasions.
During her tenure at Leo Burnett Lisbon, Luciana was entrusted with overseeing the integrated communication for one of Angola's most respected financial institutions, The Atlantico Bank. In this role, she spearheaded a team that developed a new brand positioning and introduced a comprehensive range of financial products. Working closely with such a significant African client not only enhanced her creative expertise but also broadened her global perspective.
In 2016, Luciana embarked on a new adventure in the United States, joining LAPIZ, a multicultural agency and part of Leo Burnett in Chicago, as their Senior Vice President and Executive Creative Director. Her contributions were widely recognized, and she was featured as one of the top 18 Executive Creative Directors in the U.S. by the Adweek 100 Creative list the following year. Under her guidance, the team achieved notable success, including winning their first Cannes Lion.
Continuing her global journey, Luciana relocated to Asia in 2019, assuming the role of Executive Creative Director at Saatchi&Saatchi Tokyo in Japan. There, she led multidisciplinary teams and worked with renowned global brands such as Expedia, Shu Uemura (L’Oreal), and Lexus, leveraging her expertise to deliver impactful campaigns and experiences.
In August 2021, Luciana received an invitation to return to the United States, where she currently serves as the leader of the creative department at AKQA Portland. In this role, she oversees a diverse portfolio of clients, including Nike, Dell, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, and VinFast (EV car), showcasing her ability to navigate and excel in complex and competitive markets.
