Karan Malhotra

Karan Malhotra is a versatile music composer-producer and singer-songwriter with over a decade of experience in independent music and commercial scoring. After a stint in sales, he embraced music full-time in 2014, studying jazz and launching into a prolific career across films, series, ads, and indie releases.

He has co-founded indie bands like Gravy Train, Roadside Radio, and Ghost Crabs, performing nationwide and releasing multiple singles. While composed background scores for shows such as Girl In the City (39 episodes), The Trip, and Akoori. Also scored the short film Runners, and contributed as composer for series like Home Sweet Office, Girl in the City (2016), and Pushpavalli (2017).

In the advertising realm, he has crafted memorable ads including Perk – “Investigation”, Digene, Gabit Life (featuring Ranbir Kapoor), Surf Excel Matic, and MakeMyTrip (with Ranveer Singh & Alia Bhatt). Also scored the notable campaign CRED’s IPL campaign, including work for Madhuri Dixit, Govinda, and Daler Mehndi.

He is nown for blending contemporary storytelling with musical versatility—jazz-influenced, indie-rooted, emotionally intuitive. Across platforms like Spotify, his independent releases (e.g., Fitoor, Parinda, Meri Tum) showcase a soulful, heartfelt songwriting style with a growing audience.
