Gulzar, born Sampuran Singh Kalra, is a renowned Indian poet, novelist, songwriter, film scriptwriter, playwright, producer, dialogue writer, director, and intellectual.
He has been awarded numerous prestigious accolades, including the Oscar, the Dada Sahib Phalke Award, Grammy Award, and the Sahitya Academy Award for Literature. Despite his success in films, he never distanced himself from serious literature.
He is highly respected and well-regarded in the industry. He has added value to many Bollywood movies, songs, as well as to Urdu literature. Additionally, he has also written scripts for several notable ad films and campaigns, including ones for Ambuja Cement and Times of India.
