Colston Julian

Based in Mumbai


Colston Julian is a renowned photographer and director in Bollywood. Instead, he learned his craft as a film cinematographer in Mumbai under the guidance of Ko Hung Chaing.


Colston draws inspiration from urban landscapes and lifestyles, finding beauty within chaos. Having grown up in Mumbai, he has worked with a diverse range of clients such as Omega, L'Oreal, Adidas, Puma, Apple, Mercedes, Sony, Levis, and shot editorials for Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Grazia, GQ, and Marie Claire. He enjoys capturing people and takes the time to get to know them, resulting in stunning environmental portraits.


Colston has had the privilege of working with numerous celebrities, including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, actors Amitabh Bachchan, Lily Singh, Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as well as musicians A R Rehman, and Anoushka Shankar.


As a director, Colston has created long-format television commercials for Zegna, Adidas, The Quarry, Jaipur Jewels, Awas, Shopperstop, Anita Dongre, Zoya, Tanishq, Arvind Mills, and fashion films for designer Nimish SHAH's label Shift and 11:11.
