Colston Julian is a photographer and director with over two decades of experience across advertising, fashion, and editorial work. Originally trained in cinematography, he began his career under the mentorship of legends like Bharat Bala, Santosh Sivan, Ashok Salian, and Max Vadukul, before transitioning into photography.
His portfolio includes campaigns for brands such as Apple, Sony, Mercedes, L’Oréal, and Adidas, and editorial work for Vogue, GQ, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire. He has worked with leading celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, A. R. Rahman, Virat Kohli, and Lily Singh—often capturing them in raw, layered portraits that transcend genre. He has also directed commercials and fashion films for clients like Zegna, Jaipur Jewels, Tanishq, and Anita Dongre.
In addition to his commercial work, Colston supports causes such as animal welfare through the Wet Nose Foundation and girl child education via Project Nanhi Kali. He is also involved in mentoring emerging talent and has collaborated with technology partners like Sony and Apple to explore photography’s evolving landscape.
