Bhupal Ramnathkar is the Founder and Managing Director of Umbrella Design, a Mumbai-based design agency known for its work across branding, communication, and design strategy. Over the course of his career, he has worked across advertising and design, leading creative teams and shaping communication for a wide range of brands and organisations.

Ramnathkar is a gold medallist from the Sir J. J. School of Art in Mumbai. He began his career in 1983 with Enterprise Advertising, one of India’s leading creative agencies at the time.

He went on to work with several prominent agencies, including DDB Needham in Dubai, as well as Mudra DDB and Leo Burnett in Mumbai. He later returned to Enterprise and eventually served as Executive Creative Director at Bates Enterprise before founding Umbrella Design, a specialised design agency.

Ramnathkar’s work has earned more than 250 national and around 50 international awards at major global platforms including Cannes Lions, Clio, the London International Awards, New York Festivals, and the Asia Pacific AdFest. He was also the first Indian to judge the Outdoor category at Cannes Lions in 2006 and later served as a jury member in the Design Lions category in 2013. Social Media Handles:
