Azazul Haque

Azazul Haque is the Group Chief Creative Officer at Creativeland Asia, a collective of specialist creative professionals creating solutions for brands across digital, content, media, films and technology.

Azazul started his career in 2008, as a creative director at Mudra Communications, after which, he briefly moved to Rediffusion Y&R. He later served as a creative director at McCann Worldgroup, Senior Creative Director at Contract Advertising, and Chief Creative Officer at Ogilvy (becoming the youngest CCO in India at the time). His current stint was immediately preceded by his time at Media.Monks as the Chief Content Officer, and at MullenLowe Lintas Group as the Chief Creative Officer.

Over the course of his career, Azazul has found his prowess in strategising, consulting, copywriting, and designing.

Azazul’s portfolio includes brand campaigns such as Domino’s 'Khushiyon ki Home Delivery', Madhya Pradesh Tourism 'Toys', Rajasthan Tourism 'Jaane Kya Dikh Jaaye', Titan Raga #FlauntYourFlaw, the Satyamev Jayate initiative with Aamir Khan, Amazon 'Chonkpur Cheetahs', Tata Tea Premium 'Desh ki Chai'. Among his brand clientele are also Milton. Nescafé, Coca-Cola, Maggi, Dabur, Maruti Suzuki, Havells, ICICI Bank, and Bajaj Auto.

Under his leadership, MP Tourism’s 'Toy' won a D&AD Graphite Pencil, while, “The World’s Most Honest Tourism Film” brought home Silver and Bronze Lions at Cannes. 'Chonkpur Cheetahs', too, earned a Gold at the Effies, and a Silver at APAC Effies, among other accolades. In 2018, Azazul was recognised as South Asia’s Creative Person of the Year (Runner-up) by Campaign.

In addition to his creative achievements, Azazul has contributed to the industry as a jury member, including serving as Co-Chair of the Outdoor Advertising Awards (OAA) 2023. With a career defined by bold ideas, cultural relevance, and acclaimed storytelling, he continues to be a driving force in Indian advertising.
