Aparna Raina is a National Film Award–winning production designer renowned for her exacting attention to period detail in storytelling.
A graduate of Lady Shri Ram College and FTII Pune, she began her career in 2006 as an assistant art director on Khosla Ka Ghosla and a set dresser on The Namesake. She has since built a diverse portfolio, designing for films such as Being Cyrus, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, I, Me aur Main, Nachom-ia Kumpasar, Everest (TV series), and Helmet.
Her most acclaimed work is Nachom-ia Kumpasar, a Konkani musical drama for which she won the National Film Award for Best Production Design at the 62nd National Film Awards, praised for “convincingly recreating spaces from a different era with minute attention to detail”. She also received recognition at the VIFF Vienna Independent Film Festival for Best Art Direction
Aparna has extended her expertise into commercials, music videos, TV shows, and web series. She has created visual environments for brands and platforms like Pizza Hut, Google Assist, Panasonic, Royal Stag, Instax, and more. Her ability to weave rich historical interiors with evocative storytelling consistently elevates the narrative fabric of her projects.
