Abhijat Bharadwaj is the Chief Creative Officer at Dentsu Creative.


Abhijat started her professional career in 2007, as a copywriter at Leo Burnett. Over the course of five years that followed, he steadily climbed the ladder to the position of senior copywriter at McCann Erickson, and then copy supervisor at Contract Advertising. For the next few years, he served in the capacity of assistant creative director and executive producer at other places, before joining Creativeland Asia as an executive creative director. He stayed here for seven years, his last stint being that of the Chief Creative Officer of the agency.


With over 18 years of experience in advertising, Abhijat has built a career around ideas that blend cultural insight, Indian nuance, and the craft of storytelling. Known for his strength in films, he weaves together humour and local flavour to create narratives that connect deeply with audiences.


Currently the Chief Creative Officer at Dentsu Creative Isobar, Abhijat leads with the vision to bring storytelling rooted in India’s cultural DNA. His brand portfolio include Netflix, Swiggy, AM/NS, Pizza Hut, Godrej, Star Sports, Hotstar, Mercedes-Benz, McDonald’s, and more. Notably, his “Netflix For All” campaign significantly boosted the platform’s subscriber base in India.


Abhijat’s creative excellence has been recognised internationally, winning a Gold and a Bronze at Spikes Asia 2022 for Netflix’s Money Heist Season 5 campaign. Earlier in his career, as Executive Producer at Star India, he helmed advertising for Premium & Emerging Sports, launching the Hero Indian Super League, shaping Hotstar’s inaugural IPL campaign, and driving the positioning of ProKabaddi.
