Aalap Desai is the Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer at Tgthr, a full-funnel creative agency he founded in 2023, alongside Rahul Vengalil.


Aalap started his professional career in 2008, as a junior copywriter at Publicis, following which he steadily climbed the ladder to the role of copywriter at Ogilvy, and then senior copywriter at DDB Mudra Group. After his stints as a copywriter, he served as the creative group head at JWT, and as a creative director at Leo Burnett. He briefly joined Disney+ Hotstar before moving on to Dentsu Webchutney, where he served various executive roles.


Later in his career before founding Tgthr, Aalap also served as the National Creative Director at Isobar, and as Chief Creative Officer at Isobar India, Taproot Dentsu, and Dentsu Creative West, and Dentsu Creative Experience India.


Aalap is driven not only by insight and data, but by a a vision and voice so commanding and reflective of the Indian sub-cultures that the impact of his work is seen, measured, and recognised.


Some of his notable work include Battlegrounds Mobile India #KyaLagtaHai, NPCI x The Times of India 'Anti-scam Shala' and #ConmanVsCommonMan, and Ultraviolette 'UV Lync'. His campaign for Harpic 'Loocator #BeFreeToPee' won him a silver at the Cannes Lions—Tgthr becoming the youngest Indian agency to ever win a Cannes Lion.


Not only has Aalap been on the jury of the Cannes Lions but also The 8-Bit Journno for feature film, Thappad, went on to receive 4 silver Lions, 2 bronze Lions, and 17 shortlists in 202, emerging among the most awarded campaigns on the platform that year.
